BoothCut Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-21
BoothCut ("the app") is a free photo booth app provided by DDJ B1 ("we", "us"). It takes four-cut photo strips with a countdown camera, lets you mix in photos from your album, and decorate them with frames, filters, stickers and a caption. It has no account system, no login, no subscription and no server operated by us.
Photos and strips
Photos you take with the camera, photos you pick from your album, and the finished strips are processed and stored locally on your device.
- The app itself does not upload your photos or strips, and we never receive them.
- Finished strips are saved in the app's own storage and, when you save, a copy is written to your device's photo gallery (Pictures/BoothCut).
- Album photos are chosen through Android's system photo picker; the app only receives the photos you select.
- The advertising SDK described below may collect information as explained in that section. Your photos are not passed to the advertising SDK.
Sharing
If you share a strip, the image goes to the app you choose through Android's share sheet. Android's standard app backup may include app data in your own Google account backup if you have device backup enabled; that backup is controlled by you and Google, not by us.
Permissions
- Camera — to take the photos for your strip. You can decline and make strips from album photos instead. Camera images stay on your device.
- Storage (Android 9 and older only) — to save a copy of your strip to the photo gallery. Newer Android versions do not need this permission.
- Notifications — an occasional reminder. You can decline; the app keeps working.
- Run at startup — to restore reminders after the phone restarts.
- Internet / network state / advertising ID — used by the advertising SDK described below.
BoothCut does not request your device location, microphone, contacts, SMS or calendar access.
Advertising and information collected automatically
The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob inside the app only (never in notifications or in the widget). Ads are limited to content rated for general audiences. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the AdMob SDK may collect and share with Google information such as your device's advertising identifier and other device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, app interactions (for example ad views and taps), crash logs and diagnostics. This data is shared with Google as a third party for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention purposes. For more information see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and other regions where required, the app presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized advertising data is used; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice from the app's Settings screen ("Ad privacy settings") and reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Your photos and strips exist only on your device, in your gallery and in backups you control; uninstalling the app removes the app's own copies (copies saved to your gallery stay until you delete them). Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights regarding data processed by the advertising SDK; you can exercise ad-related choices through the consent form and your device's ad settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
