Capsweep Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-10-14

Capsweep: Screenshot Cleaner ("the app") is a free app provided by DDJ B1 ("we", "us") that helps you review the screenshots on your device in batches and delete, keep or sort them. It has no account system, no login, no subscription and no server operated by us.

Photos and screenshots on your device

With your permission (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, or storage read access on older Android versions), the app reads the screenshots stored on your device so you can review them. Screenshots are displayed and processed locally on your device only. The app itself does not upload, copy or send your screenshots or their contents to us, and we have no server to receive them.

When you choose to delete screenshots, the app asks Android to move them to the system trash or delete them, and Android shows its own confirmation dialog first. Files you keep are not moved; folders, tags and notes you create are labels stored inside the app.

Information stored on your device

Your sorting decisions, in-app folders, tags, notes, statistics (such as counts cleaned and storage freed), reminder times and app settings are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes this information. Android's standard app backup may include app data in your own Google account backup if you have device backup enabled; that backup is controlled by you and Google, not by us.

Sharing

If you tap Share, the app passes the selected image or a summary card to the app you choose through Android's share sheet. The app does not send it anywhere by itself.

Permissions

Capsweep does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, SMS or calendar access, and does not request all-files access.

Advertising and information collected automatically

The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob inside the app only (never in notifications or in the widget). Ads are limited to content rated for general audiences. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the AdMob SDK may collect and share with Google information such as your device's advertising identifier and other device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, app interactions (for example ad views and taps), crash logs and diagnostics. This data is shared with Google as a third party for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention purposes. Your screenshots are not provided to the advertising SDK. For more information see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and other regions where required, the app presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized advertising data is used; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice from the app's Settings screen ("Ad privacy settings") and reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Your sorting data and settings exist only on your device; you can edit or delete them in the app at any time, and uninstalling the app removes them. You can revoke photo access at any time in Android settings. Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights regarding data processed by the advertising SDK; you can exercise ad-related choices through the consent form and your device's ad settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
