How to Build a Starter House Step by Step
Short answer: build from the ground up — floor, then walls with corner posts, then cut the door and windows, then a two-sided sloped roof. Finish each layer before starting the next.
1. Lay the floor
Pick flat ground and lay a rectangle of cobblestone, about 7 wide and 6 deep. The floor fixes the size of everything above it.
2. Put up corner posts
Place a log column on each corner, 3 blocks tall. Corner posts make the outline easy to follow and look tidy.
3. Fill the walls
Fill the walls between the posts with planks, one layer at a time. Leave a 1×2 gap in the front wall for the door and single blocks for windows.
4. Add the roof
Starting one block outside the walls, add rows of darker planks that step inward each layer until they meet in the middle. Fill the triangle ends with planks.
5. Light it up
Put a lantern inside and one by the door so the area stays safe at night.
FAQ

Mostly wood planks and logs, a little cobblestone for the floor and a few glass blocks for windows.
Can I follow this in the app?
Yes. Cubeplan's Starter Cabin and Tiny Hut are built exactly like this, step by step with exact block counts.
