Examtock Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-29
Examtock ("the app") is a free exam countdown and study planner provided by DDJ B1 ("we", "us"). It counts down the days to your exams, keeps a checklist of the topics you need to cover for each exam, shows how many topics to do each day, and keeps a simple log of your study time and exam results. It has no account system, no login, no subscription and no server operated by us. Everything works offline.
Your data
Your subjects, exams (name, date, time, place and notes), topic checklists, study time logs, exam results and settings are stored locally on your device.
- The app itself does not upload this data, and we never receive it.
- The advertising SDK described below may collect information as explained in that section. Your exams, topics, notes and results are not passed to the advertising SDK.
- If you use "Share", only the text you see (for example a short message about the app or an exam countdown) goes to the app you choose through Android's share sheet.
- Android's standard app backup may include app data in your own Google account backup if you have device backup enabled; that backup is controlled by you and Google, not by us.
Permissions
- Notifications — for optional exam countdown and study reminders. You can decline or turn them off; everything else keeps working.
- Run at startup — to restore reminders after the phone restarts or the time zone changes.
- Vibration — for reminder alerts, if you turn it on.
- Internet / network state / advertising ID — used by the advertising SDK described below. Some permissions declared by Google libraries (for example a foreground service used by system components) are not used by the app to read personal information.
Examtock does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, phone call access, SMS, calendar or photo library permissions, or permission to draw over other apps.
Advertising and information collected automatically
The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob inside the app only (never in notifications or in the widget, and never on screens where you type, such as adding or editing an exam). Ads are limited to content rated for general audiences. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the AdMob SDK may collect and share with Google information such as your device's advertising identifier and other device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, app interactions (for example ad views and taps), crash logs and diagnostics. This data is shared with Google as a third party for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention purposes. For more information see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and other regions where required, the app presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized advertising data is used; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice from the app's Settings screen ("Ad privacy settings") and reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Your app data exists only on your device and in backups you control; uninstalling the app removes the app's own copies. You can delete individual exams, topics and study logs inside the app at any time. Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights regarding data processed by the advertising SDK; you can exercise ad-related choices through the consent form and your device's ad settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
