Jotpath Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-10-15

Jotpath ("the app") is a free app provided by DDJ B1 ("we", "us") for writing quick notes the moment you open it and looking back at them on a timeline, a calendar and a map of your day. It has no account system, no login, no subscription and no server operated by us.

Notes, photos and locations you record

Your notes, the photos you attach, tags, stars, tasks and the place saved with each note are stored locally on your device in the app's database.

Location

If you allow location access, the app reads your device's location once, at the moment you save a note, and stores it with that note so it can appear on the map. The app does not track your location in the background. The app itself does not send this location off your device. You can turn location recording off in Settings or deny the permission; the app keeps working.

The map is drawn with map tiles downloaded from OpenStreetMap. To show the map, your device requests tiles for the area on screen from OpenStreetMap's tile servers, which receive your IP address and the requested area as with any web request. Your notes are not sent with these requests. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.

Backups and exports

If you choose a backup folder, the app copies your notes and photos to that folder on your device (or a storage provider you pick through Android's file picker). ZIP export saves a file wherever you choose. These copies are controlled by you; we do not receive them. Android's standard app backup may include app data in your own Google account backup if you have device backup enabled; that backup is controlled by you and Google, not by us.

Sharing

If you share a note or a day summary, the content goes to the app you choose through Android's share sheet. The app does not send it anywhere by itself.

Permissions

Jotpath does not request microphone, contacts, SMS or calendar access.

Advertising and information collected automatically

The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob inside the app only (never in notifications or in the widget). Ads are limited to content rated for general audiences. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the AdMob SDK may collect and share with Google information such as your device's advertising identifier and other device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, app interactions (for example ad views and taps), crash logs and diagnostics. This data is shared with Google as a third party for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention purposes. For more information see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and other regions where required, the app presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized advertising data is used; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice from the app's Settings screen ("Ad privacy settings") and reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Your notes and settings exist only on your device and in backups you create; uninstalling the app removes the app's own copy. Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights regarding data processed by the advertising SDK; you can exercise ad-related choices through the consent form and your device's ad settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
