Counted by calendar day, so a trip 77 days away never shows 74. Time zones and daylight saving do not shift the count.

FAQ
- Why does another app say 74 days when it is 77?
- Some apps count 24-hour blocks from the current time, which drops days around time zones and daylight saving. Nearday counts calendar days, so the number matches your calendar.
- What does "count today as day 1" do?
- It makes the start date day 1 instead of day 0. Use it for anniversaries and dating days (e.g. 100th day). Leave it off for normal countdowns.
- Do I need to pay or sign up to add more events?
- No. There is no account and no subscription. Every feature is open and you can add as many events as you like.
- Does the widget update by itself?
- Yes. The widget refreshes at midnight. If it looks stuck, see our widget guide: battery optimization is the usual cause.
- Can I set a birthday once and have it repeat?
- Yes. Set it to repeat yearly (or monthly) and it rolls over to the next date automatically.
- Can I get a reminder a week before?
- Yes. Choose on the day, 1, 3, 7 or 30 days before, per event. Reminders are optional.
- Will I lose my countdowns when I change phones?
- Not if you export a backup file and restore it on the new phone. Your events are stored only on your device.
- Does it show days since a past date?
- Yes. Past events count up, like "412 days since".
