Notitrail Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-10-14

Notitrail ("the app") is a free app provided by DDJ B1 ("we", "us") that keeps a history of the notifications your phone receives, so you can read notifications you dismissed or missed, grouped by app and conversation, and search them later. It has no account system, no login, no subscription and no server operated by us.

Notification access

The core feature requires Android's Notification access permission, which you grant yourself in system settings during setup. With it, the app reads incoming notifications (app name, title, text and time) and saves them in a database on your device so you can view them later. You can turn Notification access off at any time in Android settings; the app then stops recording.

Information stored on your device

Your notification history, excluded apps, retention period, reminder settings and app settings are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes this information. Android's standard app backup may include app data in your own Google account backup if you have device backup enabled; that backup is controlled by you and Google, not by us.

Sharing

If you tap Share or Copy on a notification, the app passes that text to the app you choose through Android's share sheet or to the clipboard. The app does not send it anywhere by itself.

Permissions

Notitrail does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, SMS or calendar access.

Advertising and information collected automatically

The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob inside the app only (never in notifications or in the widget). Ads are limited to content rated for general audiences. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the AdMob SDK may collect and share with Google information such as your device's advertising identifier and other device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, app interactions (for example ad views and taps), crash logs and diagnostics. This data is shared with Google as a third party for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention purposes. For more information see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and other regions where required, the app presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized advertising data is used; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice from the app's Settings screen ("Ad privacy settings") and reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Your notification history and settings exist only on your device; you can delete them in the app at any time, and uninstalling the app removes them. Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights regarding data processed by the advertising SDK; you can exercise ad-related choices through the consent form and your device's ad settings.
