Readband Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-08
Readband ("the app") is a blood pressure and blood sugar log provided by DDJ B1 ("we", "us"). You type in the readings shown on your own blood pressure monitor or glucose meter, and the app shows which reference band each reading falls in, along with trends and averages. Readband does not measure blood pressure or blood sugar, and it is not a medical device. It has no account system, no login and no server operated by us.
Information stored on your device
The readings you enter (systolic and diastolic pressure, pulse, blood sugar values, measurement time and context such as fasting or after a meal, notes), your reference band settings, units, reminder times and other app settings are stored locally on your device. The app itself does not send this information to us, and we have no server to receive it. We do not ask for your name, age, phone number or email address.
Uninstalling the app deletes this information. Android's standard app backup may include app data in your own Google account backup if you have device backup enabled; that backup is controlled by you and Google, not by us.
Sharing and exporting
If you tap Share or Export CSV, the app creates a summary image or a CSV file of the readings you chose and passes it to the app you select through Android's share sheet (for example, to show your doctor). The app does not send it anywhere by itself.
Permissions
- Notifications — optional reminders to log your readings. You can decline; the app keeps working.
- Run at startup — to restore your reminders after the phone restarts.
- Internet / network state — used by the advertising SDK described below.
Readband does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, storage access or phone access.
Advertising and information collected automatically
The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob inside the app only (never in notifications or in the widget). Ads are limited to content rated for general audiences. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the AdMob SDK may collect and share with Google information such as your device's advertising identifier and other device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, app interactions (for example ad views and taps), crash logs and diagnostics. This data is shared with Google as a third party for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention purposes. For more information see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and other regions where required, the app presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized advertising data is used; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice from the app's Settings screen ("Ad privacy settings") and reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings.
Health information
Blood pressure, pulse and blood sugar readings are health information. The app uses them only to show your log, reference bands and trends on your device; we do not receive them, sell them or use them for advertising. Reference bands are general guidance for your own records, not a diagnosis. If you are concerned about your readings, talk to a healthcare professional.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Your readings and settings exist only on your device; you can edit or delete them in the app at any time, and uninstalling the app removes them. Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights regarding data processed by the advertising SDK; you can exercise ad-related choices through the consent form and your device's ad settings.
