Ropebeat Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-10-09

Ropebeat: Jump Rope Counter ("the app") is a free app provided by DDJ B1 ("we", "us") that counts your jump rope skips, guides you through a daily jump rope plan and keeps your workout history. It has no account system, no login, no subscription and no server operated by us.

Information stored on your device

Your workout sessions (jump counts, duration, estimated calories), plan progress and streaks, the optional body weight you enter for calorie estimates, reminder times and app settings are stored locally on your device. The app itself does not send this information to us, and we have no server to receive it.

Uninstalling the app deletes the information stored in the app. Android's standard app backup may include app data in your own Google account backup if you have device backup enabled; that backup is controlled by you and Google, not by us.

Motion sensor

In sensor mode the app reads your phone's accelerometer during a workout to count jumps. These readings are processed on your device in real time and are not stored or sent off the device by the app. Using the motion sensor does not require a permission prompt on Android.

Sharing

If you tap Share, the app creates a short text of your workout result and passes it to the app you select through Android's share sheet. The app does not send it anywhere by itself.

Permissions

Ropebeat does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts or calendar access.

Advertising and information collected automatically

The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob inside the app only (never in notifications or in the widget, and not during an active workout). Ads are limited to content rated for general audiences. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the AdMob SDK may collect and share with Google information such as your device's advertising identifier and other device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, app interactions (for example ad views and taps), crash logs and diagnostics. This data is shared with Google as a third party for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention purposes. For more information see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and other regions where required, the app presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized advertising data is used; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice from the app's Settings screen ("Ad privacy settings") and reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings.

Health information

Calorie numbers are estimates for motivation only and are not medical advice. Your body weight, if entered, stays on your device.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Your workouts and settings exist only on your device; you can delete them in the app at any time, and uninstalling the app removes them. Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights regarding data processed by the advertising SDK; you can exercise ad-related choices through the consent form and your device's ad settings.
