Signfi Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-10-15

Signfi ("the app") is a free app provided by DDJ B1 ("we", "us") that reads the Wi-Fi name and password from a printed Wi-Fi sign or QR code with your camera (or from a photo you pick) and helps you connect. It has no account system, no login, no subscription and no server operated by us.

Camera and photos

The app uses the camera only while the scan screen is open. Text and QR recognition run entirely on your device (Google ML Kit on-device models). Camera frames are processed in memory and are not saved. If you pick a photo, the app reads only that photo through Android's photo picker and does not keep a copy.

Information stored on your device

The Wi-Fi networks you save or connect to (network name, password, date and an optional note) and app settings are stored locally on your device; passwords are encrypted with a key kept in the Android Keystore. Uninstalling the app deletes this information. Android's standard app backup may include app data in your own Google account backup if you have device backup enabled; that backup is controlled by you and Google, not by us.

Connecting and sharing

When you tap Connect, the app hands the network name and password to Android's system Wi-Fi dialog, and you confirm the connection there. If you tap Copy or Share, the details go to the clipboard or to the app you choose through Android's share sheet. The app does not send this anywhere by itself.

Permissions

Signfi does not request location, microphone, contacts, SMS or calendar access.

Advertising and information collected automatically

The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob inside the app only (never in notifications or in the widget). Ads are limited to content rated for general audiences. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the AdMob SDK may collect and share with Google information such as your device's advertising identifier and other device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, app interactions (for example ad views and taps), crash logs and diagnostics. This data is shared with Google as a third party for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention purposes. For more information see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and other regions where required, the app presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized advertising data is used; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice from the app's Settings screen ("Ad privacy settings") and reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Your saved networks and settings exist only on your device; you can delete them in the app at any time, and uninstalling the app removes them. Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights regarding data processed by the advertising SDK; you can exercise ad-related choices through the consent form and your device's ad settings.
