FAQ

Why does my step counter stop counting when the screen is locked?
Some phones close background apps to save battery. Stepblaze keeps counting with the screen off while a small notification shows today's steps, and if it detects that counting stopped, it shows a short guide to exclude the app from battery optimization.
Does Stepblaze need GPS or internet to count steps?
No. Stepblaze uses your phone's built-in step sensor. Counting works offline without GPS, and there is no account or sign-up.
Can I remove steps counted while I was driving?
Yes. Edit today's steps with ±100, or remove the steps from the last 30 minutes in one tap. You can also pause counting before you drive and resume later.
How is the streak counted?
Each day you reach your daily step goal adds one day to your streak. Days you hit the goal are filled in on the 5-week heatmap, and you earn badges at 3, 7, 14, 30 and 100 days.
Will it drain my battery?
Stepblaze reads the phone's low-power step sensor instead of GPS, so it is light on battery. Counting runs as a small background service with a notification.
Can I change my daily step goal?
Yes. Pick 5,000, 8,000 or 10,000 steps, or type your own goal. Add your height for more accurate distance and calories, and choose kilometers or miles.
How accurate is the step count?
Steps come from your phone's sensor, so accuracy varies by device and where you carry it. Distance and calories are estimates based on your steps and height.
Is there a widget?
Yes. A 2×1 widget shows today's steps and streak; a 4×2 widget shows this week. Both are included.
