Typestride Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-09
Typestride: Typing Speed Test ("the app") is a free app provided by DDJ B1 ("we", "us") that measures your typing speed and accuracy, offers typing lessons and keeps your practice history. It has no account system, no login, no subscription and no server operated by us.
Information stored on your device
Your typing test results (words per minute, accuracy, errors, duration), lesson progress, practice streaks, daily goal, custom practice texts you paste or write, reminder times and app settings are stored locally on your device. The app itself does not send this information to us, and we have no server to receive it.
The text you type during a test is compared with the practice text on your device and is not stored as a keystroke log or sent off the device by the app.
Uninstalling the app deletes the information stored in the app. Android's standard app backup may include app data in your own Google account backup if you have device backup enabled; that backup is controlled by you and Google, not by us.
Sharing
If you tap Share, the app creates a short text of your result and passes it to the app you select through Android's share sheet. The app does not send it anywhere by itself.
Permissions
- Notifications — a daily practice reminder. You can decline; the app keeps working.
- Alarms / run at startup — to deliver reminders at the time you set and restore them after the phone restarts.
- Internet / network state / advertising ID — used by the advertising SDK described below.
Typestride does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts or calendar access.
Advertising and information collected automatically
The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob inside the app only (never in notifications or in the widget, and not during a typing test or on the result screen). Ads are limited to content rated for general audiences. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the AdMob SDK may collect and share with Google information such as your device's advertising identifier and other device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, app interactions (for example ad views and taps), crash logs and diagnostics. This data is shared with Google as a third party for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention purposes. For more information see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and other regions where required, the app presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized advertising data is used; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice from the app's Settings screen ("Ad privacy settings") and reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Your results and settings exist only on your device; you can delete them in the app at any time, and uninstalling the app removes them. Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights regarding data processed by the advertising SDK; you can exercise ad-related choices through the consent form and your device's ad settings.
