Wishnote Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-10-08

Wishnote: Birthday Reminder ("the app") is a birthday and anniversary reminder app provided by DDJ B1 ("we", "us"). You save the birthdays and special dates of people you care about, see who is celebrating today and this week, get reminders on the day and in advance, keep gift ideas, and share a greeting. It has no account system, no login and no server operated by us.

Information stored on your device

The events you add (names, dates, optional birth year, relationship, notes and gift ideas, reminder choices) and your app settings are stored locally on your device. The app itself does not send this information to us, and we have no server to receive it.

If you use Backup, the app writes a file containing your events to a location you choose (for example your device storage or a cloud drive app you pick). That file is controlled by you; we never receive it. Restore reads a backup file you select.

Uninstalling the app deletes the information stored in the app. Android's standard app backup may include app data in your own Google account backup if you have device backup enabled; that backup is controlled by you and Google, not by us.

Contacts (optional)

If you choose Import from contacts, the app asks for permission to read your contacts and reads only names and birthdays/anniversaries saved in them, so you can pick which ones to add. The app itself does not send your contacts off your device. You can decline this permission and add events by hand.

Sharing

If you tap Share or Send a message, the app creates a greeting text and passes it to the app you select through Android's share sheet. The app does not send it anywhere by itself.

Permissions

Wishnote does not request location, camera, microphone, calendar or phone access.

Advertising and information collected automatically

The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob inside the app only (never in notifications or in the widget). Ads are limited to content rated for general audiences. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the AdMob SDK may collect and share with Google information such as your device's advertising identifier and other device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, app interactions (for example ad views and taps), crash logs and diagnostics. This data is shared with Google as a third party for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention purposes. For more information see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and other regions where required, the app presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized advertising data is used; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice from the app's Settings screen ("Ad privacy settings") and reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Your events and settings exist only on your device; you can edit or delete them in the app at any time, and uninstalling the app removes them. Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights regarding data processed by the advertising SDK; you can exercise ad-related choices through the consent form and your device's ad settings.
