How to Move Notes and Diary Entries to a New Android Phone

Short answer: before you reset or trade in the old phone, export your notes to a file you can carry (a ZIP), copy it to the new phone, and import it. In Jotpath that is Settings, Export ZIP, then Import ZIP on the new phone.

Why notes disappear when you switch phones

Many memo apps keep notes only inside the app's private storage. Android's device transfer does not always carry that data, and reinstalling the app starts empty. Reviews of note apps repeat the same story: "changed phones and lost everything".

Step by step

1. On the old phone, export all notes as a ZIP. 2. Move the ZIP to the new phone (USB cable, a cloud drive you already use, or a messenger to yourself). 3. Install the app on the new phone and import the ZIP. 4. Check a few old days on the calendar to confirm.

Make it automatic

Jotpath can back up every day to a folder you choose. Pick a folder that your phone already copies elsewhere, and you always have a recent backup even if the phone breaks.

FAQ

Do I need an account to move my notes?

No. Jotpath has no account. The ZIP file is your backup.

Are photos included?

Yes. Photos attached to notes go into the ZIP with the notes.

What if I forget to export?

If daily auto-backup is on, use the latest backup in the folder you chose.
