How to import birthdays from your phone contacts
Short answer: a birthday app can only import contacts that have a birthday saved. Add the birthday in your Contacts app, allow contacts access in the birthday app, then tap import.
1. Add birthdays to your contacts
Open Contacts → a person → Edit → Add field / More → Birthday (or Significant date). Save. The year is optional.
2. Allow contacts access
When the birthday app asks for contacts permission, choose Allow. It is only needed for the import.
3. Import
Tap import, review the list and keep the people you want. Duplicates should be skipped.
What about Facebook birthdays?
Facebook stopped sharing friends' birthdays with other apps, so no birthday app can import them anymore. Copy the ones you care about into Contacts or straight into the app.
Doing it with Wishnote
Wishnote imports every contact with a birthday in one tap during setup or later from Settings. Nothing is uploaded; the dates stay on your phone.
FAQ
Why are some contacts missing after import?
Only contacts with a birthday field filled in are imported. Add the birthday in your Contacts app and import again.
Can I import Facebook birthdays?
No. Facebook closed the API that let apps read friends' birthdays. Add them to your contacts first.
Are my contacts uploaded anywhere?
Not with Wishnote. It reads the birthday field on the phone and saves it locally.
