How to move your birthdays to a new phone

Short answer: export a backup file on the old phone, move the file to the new phone, and import it in the same app. Do it before you reset the old phone.

1. Export on the old phone

Open the birthday app → Settings → Export / Backup. Save the file (for example a .json file) to Downloads or Google Drive.

2. Move the file

Upload it to Google Drive, email it to yourself, or copy it with a USB cable.

3. Restore on the new phone

Install the app, open Settings → Import / Restore and pick the file. Then allow notifications so reminders start again.

Why things get lost

Apps with no account store data only on the device, and some charge for export. If the old phone is already reset with no backup, contact birthdays can still be re-imported from your synced Google contacts.

Doing it with Wishnote

Wishnote backs up all dates, notes and gift ideas to one JSON file for free and restores them on any phone. No account, no paid upgrade.

FAQ

Why did my birthdays disappear on my new phone?

Apps without an account keep data only on the old phone. Without a backup file, reinstalling starts empty.

Is backup a paid feature?

Not in Wishnote. Export and restore are free.

Where should I keep the backup file?

Anywhere you can reach from the new phone: Google Drive, email to yourself, or a USB cable.
