Roll a random spot. Go see what's there.
Pick a radius and tap Roll. Wandrift drops a flag somewhere inside the circle around you, usually a place you've never been. Landed in a lake? Reroll as much as you want. No account, no points, no login.

Unlimited rerolls
Random spots sometimes fall on water, a highway or a backyard. Just roll again. There is no points system and no daily limit.
Three ways to roll
Wild picks anywhere in the circle. Cluster finds where 400 random points pile up. Hollow finds the emptiest gap between them.
Radius from 200 m to 10 km
Short lunch walk or a whole afternoon. Distances show in meters and kilometers, or feet and miles.
Compass guide
A big arrow and the distance left, updated as you walk. Open the spot in your maps app for walking directions any time.
Peek before you go
Check the spot in Street View first and skip places you can't reach, like fenced lots or the middle of a river.
A journal of what you found
Tag what you found (nature, art, animals, something odd, or nothing at all), add a one-line note, a star rating and a photo.
Streaks and stats
Trips, total distance and a day streak grow as you explore. A home screen widget shows the streak with a one-tap Roll.
Private and offline
Spots are calculated on your phone. Location is used only while the app is open, and your journal stays on your device.
FAQ
- Do I need an account or points to roll?
- No. Wandrift has no sign-up, no login and no points. Every roll and reroll is unlimited.
- What if the spot is in water or on private property?
- Reroll. Random spots can land anywhere, so Wandrift makes rerolling unlimited. You can also check Street View before you go.
- What's the difference between Wild, Cluster and Hollow?
- Wild is one uniformly random point. Cluster samples 400 random points and goes where they bunch up. Hollow goes to the biggest empty gap between them.
- Does it work without internet?
- Rolling and the compass work offline. Opening the spot in a maps app or Street View needs those apps' connection.
- Does Wandrift track my location in the background?
- No. Location is used only while the app is open to pick a spot and show the distance. There is no background tracking.
- What if I found nothing at all?
- Log it anyway with the "Nothing at all" tag. It still counts toward your trips, distance and streak.
- Is it safe to go to random places?
- Use common sense: respect fences and local laws, prefer daylight and public places, and bring a friend.
- How is Wandrift paid for?
- Every feature is included and supported by ads instead of a subscription. There are no ads on the journal editing screen.
